Police offers service to protect large amounts of cash withdrawal during the Chinese New Year
As the Chinese New Year is coming, people will use the financial transaction service even more to withdraw or deposit higher amount of cash. According to the MOI, at the vacation time, police departments will dispatch more police to strengthen protection at financial institutions during the Chinese New Year to prevent theft and robberies. Police departments will also provide protection for people who holds large amounts of cash from banks without extra expenses. People can contact the local police departments for protection or request the financial institutions to contact police departments if they need service.According to the MOI, once security incidents happen at financial institutions, the public will be distrustful of the public security. Therefore, protecting financial institutions’ security is one of the indicative tasks of the police departments. During the period of Spring Festival Special Project of 2019, the National Police Agency required the police departments to conduct comprehensive inspections of financial institutions, increase police patrols during the time that theft, forcible seizure or robbery happen at higher risk, and inform people to be awareness of various public safety concerns.
Police departments will dispatch more police to prevent criminal cases occur in higher probability at financial institutions during the time. The police will also implement patrolling programs to safeguard the ATMs from being damaged or stop fraudulent cash withdrawal through ATM.
The MOI reminded the public to pay more attention to various safety concerns during the Chinese New Year. That will prevent the valuable properties from being robbed or stolen. People can directly contact the police departments for protection or request the financial institutions to contact police departments when depositing or withdrawing large amounts of cash.
