People can set up a code word with friends and family. If there’s any suspicion of a deepfake scam, you can ask something like, “What was that place we visited together?” You can verify identity with that method.

When people are anxious or feeling pressured, they are more likely to make irrational decisions. So first, scammers will try to create time pressure. They’ll tell you, “If you don’t come save me right away, something bad might happen.” That’s time pressure. They’ll also try to add to your anxiety by crying or making a fuss, so that you’re very much on edge.

As technology advances, we must do our best to be aware of the changes and accept them. If we keep resisting, we’ll quickly become obsolete.
